PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE – WALKER, MI
DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing
LOCATION: Walker, MI
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time; 2nd Shift Only

 

JOB SUMMARY
The Production Associate will be required to be multi-skilled and multi-functional in a variety of manufacturing tasks. It will be expected that the Production Associate will be cross-trained and become competent in the tasks of Kit-Cut, Lay-Up/Press/De-Mold, Router, Sander, Primer, Bonder, Finish, Autoclave, and Autoclave Lay-Up.

CUSTOMER SITE REPRESENTATIVE – CLC
LOCATION: Kendallville, Indiana
EMPLOYMENT STATUS:  Exempt, full-time,  1st shift

JOB SUMMARY
The Customer Site Representative represents the Plasan Carbon Composites Walker, MI facility in addressing product quality issues at Creative Liquid Coatings (CLC) located in Kendallville, IN. This includes quality concerns between CLC and the Walker Plasan Carbon Composites facility as well as between CLC and the Bowling Green Corvette Assembly Plant.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as Plasan employee who is direct customer first-line Quality representative at Creative Liquid Coatings (CLC) located in Kendallville, IN.  CLC is a Plasan tier 2 painter for Plasan customer Bowling Green GM Assembly Plant.
  • Provide daily direct communication with Quality Manager and Plasan manufacturing site Quality Engineering or other Plasan support or hands-on customer needs.  Provide detailed, clear, concise daily summaries with evidence and visual photos for direct feedback to the Plasan manufacturing facility Quality Team.  Appropriate immediate urgent communication by phone and email as required.
  • Inspection of incoming product, CLC line inspections, rejected material, daily interaction with supplier and/or customer on issues or perceived problems while working in the capacity of Plasan supplier representative.  Will maintain a good working relationship with all plant employees maintaining a professional manner at all times and in the best interest of Plasan.
  • Provide hands-on containment actions as required with problem resolution, ramp up product, boundary sample development and for any other required actions.
  • Provide direct Plasan requested “Acceptance, Color, Fit & Function Harmony Reviews” as needed and other audits and provide detailed reports back to Plasan Quality Team in various requested formats and timing for continuous improvement inputs.

Applicants must meet the following requirements for consideration:

  • High school diploma with 5+ years in quality and/or automotive site liaison work.
  • Quality background, assembly and paint background with GM or equivalent automotive OEM experience.

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
LOCATION: Walker, MI
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time

JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.  Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls.  Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Automotive Engineering or combination of experience and education
• Experience with CAD/CAM and other IT skills are required

PRODUCT ENGINEER
LOCATION: Wixom, MI
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time

JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manager of Product Engineering, the Product Engineer provides customer support by providing engineering assistance, trouble-shooting support and assisting the program teams from new product development through product life cycle.  This position interfaces regularly with the customer to resolve engineering concerns and quality issues.  Coordinate technical/design development direction and continuously communicates design critiques from the customer.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s in Engineering required or equivalent combination of education and five years’ experience
• Catia, Solidworks, NX or UG experience required
• 2+ years preferred experience in Automotive
• Carbon Composites Experience and Product Design a plus
• GD&T experience a plus
• Problem Solving Skills (5 Why, 5W+1H, Fishbone, 8D)
• Work well in a team environment

QUALITY ENGINEER
LOCATION: Walker, MI
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time

JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting the Quality System including Customer Contact, Supplier Contact, Receiving Inspection, Final Audit, TS16949, PPAP, APQP, QOS, 8D Problem Solving, Metrology, Layout functions, and Continuous Improvement Efforts as well as all associated documentation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with four years’ experience in quality engineering or equivalent
• Advanced quality planning, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, control plan, QS9000, ISO:2008 and TS16949:2009 experience
• Familiar with dimensional measuring equipment and layouts. Advanced mathematical calculations, such as squares, square roots, standard deviation and formulas
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exist
